Why it matters

Record keeping is the job

A homeschool group's most important service to families is a clean permanent record. EdPort makes that automatic.

State compliance

Most states require homeschool groups to keep attendance, grades, and enrollment records for years — often permanently. Paper folders get lost. EdPort doesn't.

College admissions

When a student applies to college, they need a transcript. When financial aid asks for records, you'll need them fast. Cumulative digital records are always ready.

Family peace of mind

Families trust your group with their child's permanent record. A modern, secure system says you take that seriously.

Auditor-ready

If the state ever asks — or if a family transfers to another school — you can print a full record in one click.

Peace of mind if the state ever asks

An auditor, a family transferring out, a college requesting records — you shouldn't have to scramble.

  • Print any student's full cumulative file in one click
  • Export CSV of every record type, anytime
  • Records stay accessible after students graduate
  • Encrypted storage — never a file on someone's laptop

Frequently asked

Common questions

How long should we keep homeschool records?

Most states require attendance and grade records for the duration of enrollment plus several years after. Best practice for umbrella schools, PSPs, and co-ops is permanent retention — you never know when a former student will need a transcript for college or a job. EdPort keeps records permanently unless you archive or delete.

What happens to our records if we close the group?

You can export all records as CSV plus every student's cumulative file as PDF. Your data is portable and belongs to you. We recommend downloading a full archive before closing.

Are records secure?

Yes. Records are encrypted at rest and in transit, stored on Supabase infrastructure (SOC 2 Type II certified). Only invited group admins, teachers, and platform admins have access — with role-based permissions.

Can teachers see records for students they don't teach?

No. Teachers only see students they are assigned to. Group admins see the full roster. Platform admins (support) can access when troubleshooting.

Can families see their child's records?

Group admins can share PDFs (transcripts, report cards, attendance summaries) with families anytime. Direct parent portal access is on the roadmap.

What kinds of homeschool groups use EdPort for record keeping?

Homeschool umbrella schools, PSPs, homeschool co-ops, cottage schools, learning centers, and church-based homeschool academies — nationwide. Any group that needs to keep records on multiple students across multiple school years.
